i just want to know around how many hours am i going to work>? how many days? how long is the training? and what are the chances of me going to war in iraq or somewhere over there?

Like all Guardsmen and reservist you will be required to complete initial entry training (Basic and AIT) which will last generally 14-20 weeks (or more for some MOSs). After that you you will be required to conduct training (Drills) 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks of Annual Training (AT) per year for 6 years (followed by 2 years in the IRR with no drill commitment for a total of 8 years).

The rest of the time you hold a job or go to college like every other civilian.

Your chances of getting deployed AT LEAST once in the 8 years is almost 100%.

the plants here refer to the machinery

We all know that equipments and plants make modern construction more efficient and more systematic. Warehouses, tower cranes, dozers, backhoes and other equipments contribute to make modern construction solved its complexity.

They also contribute to finish a construction ahead of time with low overhead cost.

There are how many of the types of trailers in auto industry ? I think heavy duty trailers are the vehicles which are mostly used by the construction industries and also by the industries which are having larger uses of heavy machines and equipments. These heavy-duty trailers are used for the lifting purposes of the heavy equipments and also are used for the transportation purposes of the heavy goods and cargos. These are the trailers which are considered as the trailers with greater utilities and better features in the entire trucking industries.

there is a company called cowboy rigs or maybe its riggs, never mind, anyway that is who you need to be talking to. they got some really nice built tough azz trailers.the lighter aluminum trailers are easy to pull, yeah right, they whip, they dont track well, and you know you start hiring employees, they wont take care of it anyway! look for the company i mentioned.

I used to work for a large ag construction company. I now have an interview at one of the dealers that sells the same equipment. Would it be bad to wear a company logoed shirt to the second round of interviews?

Yes in my opinion it would be bad, imagine you are interviewing me , you know where I presently work ,so why the shirt with the logo, what am I trying to say, ( really nothing, but lets say you don’t see it that way), I could find you hold that against me for your own reasons.
It’s not worth the gamble
Wear a plain shirt with a matching tie.
Good Luck in your forthcoming interview.

Construction and ARMY?

Author: admin

im a sophomore in high school. we have a construction class where i take it for two years. I get great benefits I can be OSHA certified . work on any construction site. all when im in High School. then when I graduate go in the Army to be a 21E (Heavy Construction Equipment OPERATOR ) or 21J(GENERAL Construction Equipment OPERATOR). and get Army benefits aswell. When im researved in ARMY i can contact local contractors to work for. (i dont know just options) then when I get out of the Army be a Heavy Machine Equipment Operator. is this a good decision? I know a lot about construction. Been around it my whole life.

I think that’s a very good plan. Take every construction class you can, get as much certification as possible, and when you go in the military take all the supplemental training they will give you.

But don’t just lock yourself into heavy equipment - get as broad an education as you can, so that you can always make money, not just in boom times. Point yourself towards green building (LEED certifications and so on), as this is the one area of construction that is not only booming right now, but projected to be so for some time to come.

You can learn more about green building here: http://www.contractor-city.com/grfrgrup.html

Good luck, I know you will do well.

Most of the exoskeleton suits are still in work and some of them work pretty well, but they are thinking too small and are too much under budget. Exoskeleton suits as everyone knows can be used for just about anything on the ground, combat or non-combat alike. If the current exo suit is as good as it says, I think they should look to a higher view. Of course this is a good starter but not good for lifting anything if your arms can’t handle it.

If they start thinking bigger and better like in the movies like you say, it can definitely do a lot better. Example, one worker exo could replace 3 people working on a construction project at the same speed, but 3 exo workers could get it done in a far faster time limit thus getting the whole project done far faster. Some people will say it will take jobs away instead of creating them. But if you don’t take away the jobs the fighting force overall will work much faster and efficient.

I’ve had an idea a little before, maybe some other people may have had the idea too, but if they work on the bleex a lot more and included arms for it. Maybe incase they had to tip a car over for cover, add the Dragon skin armor for plaiting around the whole exo which would cover the body shell and put a helmet on with all kinds of tech in it, and make it almost impossible for a bullet to slip in and still comfortable and quick moving. It could make a good front line assault group that can be used for certain missions.

And you know those soldiers that get booted from the army for being too strong…give those guys these and in case for some reason the system fails. They will be able to unload some of the more heavier stuff and still be able to move around on there own. Ideally like medieval times, there would be knights that wore armor into battle and really did some good punch’s to overall battles that may have took a lot more lives to defeat. I know a lot of people would think these are stupid ideas but if you get the right people and trained them good to pilot anything close to what I just said, it would be like you have god himself on your side.

As a former design specialist working for a DOD contractor the design of piloted and remote control was in development in the mid 80’s. The problems then were 1 Power 2 reset 3 panic the first verbal control panic button was Reset and returning unit to “Zero” Power was limited to battery, hydraulic, and diesel. The exoskeleton issue is to structure the system needs to closely fit the environment.

One can only wonder what will happen to all that delicate equipment when a little sand or dust gets in there. Will it short out when a soldier must cross a stream or the humidity of a rainy day? Care for a roll in the mud? I am a great enthusiast of sci-fi equipment. If you want an equipment hauler for here and now the bicycle is a simple, proven, and available combat vehicle.

The bicycle was the secret weapon that allowed 30,000 Japanese to defeat 100,000 British at Singapore in World War II. By traveling 3 times faster than on foot the Japanese were able to project an image of about the same size force as the British. Given Japanese control of sea and air “resistance was futile”. The Viet Cong proved the bicycle was a formidable hauler of supplies. The Germans had a bicycle corps trained to jump off their bikes and become infantry in seconds. The bicycle was considered ideal for recon and Special Forces.

When repairing a road or bridge, I am told the temporary path around the constructions site to the other side is called a shoe fly. So far no heavy equipment operator or construction company I’ve asked knows why they call it a shoe fly.

Try looking it up with the spelling "shoo fly." Apparently hobos used the term to refer to a detour track built around a temporary obstacle, and to avoid passing though a hobo-hostile town.

There are also a great many references to the quilt pattern called shoo-fly; the pattern was an indication of safety during the days of the Underground Railroad.

We use to be the world leader in machine tools and Construction Equipment. We must once again become the world leader in these areas.

Productivity. This comes about through better technology and more productive manufacturing methods. Everybody things cheap overseas labor saves money but it doesn’t. If you look up productivity ratios (an economics statistic that determines the value of good produced per worker) the U.S. use to be one of the highest over many decades. Slave labor is cheap but if workers aren’t motivated and don’t have the right tools to be productive it’s not going to win out in the market.

The West has gotten a bit lazy over time and cheaped out in investing in new technology and better processes. The rest of the world is starting to catch up. I grew up in a factory town and they hated to update the factories with newer technologies, they just kept the 50’s technology working well past it’s expirey date. It became too expensive to operate so each plant just shut down one by one until the town had no manufacturing base left. Research, development, and a constant cycle of upgrades will keep a nations manufacturing base on top.
