Scaffolding is a temporary structure that is erected for use in the construction of either industrial or residential buildings. It allows for convenient working platforms that can reach many meters high. Scaffolding is necessary, because even if you were to use a tall ladder, a ladder will not provide the same level of stability. A ladder would not be very useful on a forty-story high rise building! Only with scaffolding can you safely reach those heights. On scaffolding you will have a large platform for your construction tools and a more usable workspace. The platform will need to be surrounded by guardrails for extra safety.

Scaffolding is fairly easy to erect and shorter towers can even be set up by two unskilled people. In most instances though, when scaffolding is being used on the construction or remodeling of a tall building, only trained professionals are allowed to erect the towers. There are training courses available on the erection of scaffolding, and many safety rules and regulations to be adhered to. In most countries, there will be random checks conducted on the scaffolding on industrial construction sites to ensure that they meet all their safety regulation requirements.

In most cases scaffolding will be constructed out of steel pipes and wooden platforms. In some Asian countries, bamboo is still used to erect scaffolding. This is because bamboo is more cost-efficient and also readily available. There are certain weight restrictions for different types of scaffolding, and certain ratios of the steel pipe width and height to each other. If the safe base-to-height ratio is exceeded, the scaffolding should be tied with scaffold tubes and fittings. Each individual scaffolding tower will be its own structure, but it will be tied and connected to its neighboring towers for more security.

Here are some safety precautions to adhere to when using scaffolding:

When relocating towers, care must always be taken to ensure that the tower will remain upright. Particular caution must be exercised when moving the scaffolding tower over an uneven surface, as this may cause it to fall. No equipment should be left on the scaffolding platform whilst you are moving it. If the equipment falls it could injure someone standing below, and the weight of the equipment could also make the scaffolding less sturdy.

The tower should always be tied to the building in questionable weather conditions. Extreme caution should be exercised when there are high winds, as this could cause the scaffolding to move and sway. If the tower is not tall enough for its purpose, rather erect a taller structure of scaffolding. Placing boxes or ladders on top of scaffolding to gain extra height is extremely dangerous.

When scaffolding is erected, be it for industrial use or residential, the size and shape of the building must be taken into consideration. A trained contractor who specializes in scaffolding is always ideal, because they will be able to determine exactly what size of scaffolding. They will draw up a scaffolding construction and installation plan that is tailor-made for your building requirements.

The largest manufacturer of heavy construction equipment are in the United States, Japan, Germany, France and the UK. Whereas the second largest and less competitive, manufacturers of heavy construction equipment are located in Canada, China, Russia, Latin America, South Korea, Italy, Belgium and Sweden. However, this position could easily change in this day of ever-changing market trends and developing countries be able to attract large manufacturers of construction equipment, material and offering low labor costs.

Global demand for heavy construction equipment is widespread and on a large scale of production with nearly thirty percent entering the overseas market every year. This market has been defined by the mainstream and between developed countries and by the large scale importation by developing countries with little domestic production.

Along with the United States, Japan has been the major net exporter of heavy construction equipment with Germany and the United Kingdom following close behind. The United States is also a major importer of heavy construction equipment, the import in large quantities and operation of a moderate-sized trade surplus. In a developing world, and given the variety of construction equipment predominant in the major geographic regions and even in each country, is typical of heavy construction equipment to find some use by private contractors and public agencies as well. Shopping used heavy construction equipment is also an option.

Production design and manufacturing technology for Heavy ConsConstruction Equipment are well established and are making progress on a regular basis. Tractors, loaders, mixers, cranes and other heavy construction equipment that contain automatic transmissions, controls, electric motor monitoring systems, and many can now be programmed to repeat the same cycles. Other developments to improve operator comfort are air-conditioned cabins, tilting and fliers devices for noise reduction.

The world of heavy construction equipment industry consists mainly of nearly one thousand companies, with smaller companies that specialize in small teams, for example, parts and accessories. Some major manufacturers include: Team Caterpillar, Komatsu equipment, case equipment, Volvo team, the team Deere, New Holland equipment and Hitachi equipment. All major manufacturers of construction equipment must strategically plan and decide whether your company will continue to expand and remain strong or if your company should draw back, maybe sell and leave the industry. These decisions many companies have chosen to form alliances with other companies as an effort to prosper and continue as Caterpillar has merged with New Holland to form CNH, Inc. The emphasis on cost reduction, competitiveness and calibration.

There is an increased emphasis on research and development, so that manufacturers of heavy construction equipment seek a competitive advantage in many ways. With Caterpillar and Komatsu, for example, are two of the major producers and most of the research and development costs through the use of design team along with the manufacturer of systems. As technology develops, all the leading manufacturers of heavy construction equipment is new and improved way to test and improve their products to stay one step ahead in the competition by Bargain Hunter

Or is Materials and Equipment the same thing…

I am just writing up a bid room for room in a home, along with an outdoors section….

So should I just write:

Living room [Materials, Equipment, Labor] $695 OR should I write:
Living room [Materials, Labor] $695 ?????

I would like to show as much as I can….as far as whats concerned/used…..

So what do you think??????
It occured to me when I was writing up the outdoors section of the bid that maybe I could throw the word equipment in there (for each and every room, including outdoors) because there arent too many materials (usually meaning something you buy at home depot/etc) however there is equipment that I previously owned that will have been used…….get it?? What do you think… Thanks =]

ALSO, anything you could think of that would make it sound ‘bigger’…. IE: Instead of just putting:
Living Room $695……………..I would add the other………..to help visualize the process…. so are there any other keywords that would sound better??? Thanks!!!

10 Points best answer goes out in 4 hours ASAP!!

Need to break it down further.
Equipment is tools and such, eg Scaffold/Ladder rental
Materials are building materials, paint, wood, etc
Labor is the cost of the time of the people working on the project - painter, electrician etc.
